Divorce and Dissolution Records

Dissolution of marriage records — including judgments of divorce nisi, certificates of divorce absolute, and separation agreements — are maintained by the Worcester Probate and Family Court. Certified copies of marriage certificates from 1931 to the present are available through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Registry of Vital Records and Statistics (RVRS). Records from 1841 to 1930 are held at the Massachusetts Archives.

Access Restrictions on Family Court Records

Although Probate and Family Court records are generally public, access to some documents — including adoption records and certain guardianship filings — is limited to parties to the case, their attorneys, and persons authorized by court order.
